Aus dem Dunklen( Out of the Dark) Mokuhanga woodcut

Handling wet paper with precision is a challenge. With a waterbased Mokuhanga woodcut you have to do that.
With 60 cm it´s the biggest that I have made up to now. There are three plates – black, blue (two kinds) and yellow/ocre.
The yellow and blue are also under the black parts and these colors are shining through.

Feuchtes Papier präzise zu verarbeiten ist eine Herausforderung. Beim Mokuhanga Holzschnitt mit Wasserfarben muss man das.
Mit 60 cm ist dies der größte dieser Art, den ich bisher gedruckt habe. Es gibt drei Druckplatten – Schwarz, Blau ( zwei Arten) und
Gelb/Ocker. Das Gelb und Blau liegt auch unter den schwarzen Flächen und scheint durch.
